Noncovalent interactions: A brief account of a long history

The history of noncovalent interactions is outlined, starting with early interpretations the symmetry crystals, then fast development coordination chemistry, and fundamental analyses in last century. An attempt made to provide for practicing scientists who use a historical background field, paying credit often forgotten predecessors. A separate section shows that only 20th century instrumentation provided firm basis exploration interactions. Selected examples illustrate rather accurate calculations some energies. With advent supramolecular became mainstream field science; this allowed further insight into nature strength these seemingly weak forces. Intermolecular biological systems have also received attention. As far as possible, exact references are given original publications.
